Meet Heather Cathey, FNP-BC, CPNP-PC
Heather Cathey, FNP-BC, CPNP-PC, is a board-certified nurse practitioner dedicated to improving the health and well-being of every child she serves. She provides pediatric and family care with a focus on newborns, well-child visits, and general pediatrics, drawing on 15 years of experience, including 3 years focused specifically on pediatrics.Heather is dually board certified as a family nurse practitioner and a pediatric nurse practitioner.
Heather is also full-time faculty at Tennessee Tech University, where she teaches undergraduate and graduate nursing students, helping shape the next generation of nurses and nurse practitioners. Her approach emphasizes preventive care through regular well-child visits, developmental screenings, and early identification of health concerns to support healthy growth and development. Her teaching earned her the 2024 Ann Koci Award for Excellence in Teaching and the 2022 Research and Creative Inquiry Day Award.
Heather is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, American Academy of Pediatrics, Tennessee Nurses Association, American Nurses Association, and Association of Infant Mental Health of Tennessee.
